HUGH MUNDELL

Hugh se presentó a reggae por vecinos de su familia, intérprete y productor de reggae Boris Gardiner. Con la ayuda de Gardiner Hugh grabó su primer single "Where Is Natty Dread?" con el productor Joe Gibbs, a la edad de 13 [1].Un prodigio adolescente, grabó "África debe ser libre para 1983", a la edad de 16 años. El álbum recibió cinco estrellas de la revista Rolling Stone. [2] Aunque producida por Augustus Pablo, Mundell escribió todas las canciones, con lo que se ganó el apodo de "El Beato de la Juventud".Mundell grabó varios 12 "singles bajo el alias de Jah Levi [3].Lo que parecía que iba a ser una brillante carrera se vio interrumpida cuando Mundell fue muerto a tiros mientras conducía con Junior Reid en Kingston, Jamaica en 1983.
